Palinges

The gîte is 2Km from the heart of the village (1800 inhabitants), which has all the local commodities such as a butcher, baker, chemist, doctor's practice, grocer's shop.


Palinges is crossed by a lovely canal.

Nearby the village is a large lake with a sandy beach where you can sunbathe and go swimming; there are also tennis courts. There is an old church dating back to the 12th century and a museum of Popular Arts and Traditions, and the magnificent old castle which has been open to the public since 1999 and which is well worth a visit.
